Hi, have been on letrazole since November 2018, have had a dreadful time with side effects, from hot flushes to deep depression. They are now changing me to Tamoxifen, any info about this other drug would be great.
Hi
I guess the only thing you can do is try Tamoxifen and see if your symptoms abate. Here's a link to Macmillan's information on Tamoxifen.
Every one of us are so different in how we react to these inhibitor drugs. I'm on Anastrozole and have been exceptionally lucky with the lack of side effects, whereas other ladies suffer really badly. However, the one thing I found is that different brands can make a difference as the coatings of the tablets can cause side effects. I was given a different brand from my usual Accord and within 2 days - boy did I start feeling rough with aches and pains. Had some of my Accord left and changed back. I got my doctor to write on the prescription slip to only give me Accord after that. I tested the other brand again after a couple of months - just to see and wham! the side effects hit again in 2 days. So, if you find any side effects, it is worth checking the ingredients and see about getting another brand to see if it makes a difference for you.
