I've been here before. I've had a lumpectomy and all lymph nodes removed. Filled by 20 radiotherapy sessions and tamoxifen for 5 years. Now it's going to start all over again.
I can do the days, just. But the nights are so long and so hard.
I have 9 more days and nights before surgery. The days I can fill.
What I need is a sledge hammer that puts me to sleep between 22.00hrs and 07.00hrs
I need a list of people who are awake when I'm awake.
Well till then" I am H A P P Y! I am H A P P Y. I know I am I'm sure I am. I am H A P P Y.
Big hugs . Have you tried the AWAKE thread? There are always several insomniacs around to chat to and support each other. I have found it a godsend. Good luck xxx
Onwards and flatwards (don't do hills) and keep walking if you can!
I feel your pain ,
I suffered terribly from insomnia, even before diagnosis so you can imagine what it was like waiting for tests, results and consultations!
If a slept two hrs from absolutely exhaustion it was a godsend. Mostly no sleep at all some nights.
I know some ppl have to have sleeping tablets. I didn’t sleep well during chemo either first few days before and after due to the steroids.
I have slept better recently as hubby has kindly vacated our bedroom just to help me sleep, recover and heal.
Have you mentioned this to your consultant or care team, Breast nurse or Macmillan, the latter two have been excellent with me.
Good Luck with everything x
Hi
Beachwalker
Not mentioned it to care team as its not exactly a major issue. It passed last time and it will pass again. I'm quite glad I'm off work having had a bunionectomy though so when I do get to sleep I can lie in. Although trying hard not to become nocturnal. Foot surgery means I'm not very active through the day. Hopefully a couple more weeks I'll be able to walk so I will be proper tired when I get to bed.
My hubby moved out of our bed 18 months ago after I had surgery on my other foot and we both slept so well he never came back. We visit each other!
Take care
