hi everyone , so i had my ct scan yesterday wernt half has bad as i thought it would be , i asked the doctor after how long will it be till i get th results and he said 2 week , but my breast nurse said last week it would only be about 3 days , how long did you wait for the results , i go on holiday nect friday and dont know if its a good idea to know the results before i go xx

  • Hi

Unfortunately it  can take 2 weeks . But if your nurse said 3 days then phone her and ask.

My main concern is if your going abroad - re insurance . If your staying in the UK your fine.

If your going abroad , you need to keep your insurance in the loop. My last holiday I got my insurance through InsureWith , my insurance through my bank wouldn’t cover anything to do with breast cancer. But I got full insurance with insurewith. Wasn’t expensive either..

The waiting is awful and either way your holiday will be different. You will enjoy it but it will be different .

    Wishing you well

    Take care

  • Hi

I hope you don't mind me butting in but I noticed that you were asking about travel insurance.

Unfortunately, it can be more difficult to find reasonably priced travel insurance when you have had a cancer diagnosis so could I suggest that you join the travel insurance group. Clicking on the link will take you there.

Once you have joined look for the thread called 'Recommended Travel Insurance' as it's where we try to keep recommendations from other forum members who have obtained travel insurance.

It is best to phone the travel companies rather than try and do online quotes. Make sure you have all the dates of your treatments to hand along with details of any medication and any future planned treatment.

I do hope that you can get insurance and that you have a lovely holiday.

  • That's okay if you don't have any treatment planned yet ,I was just trying to say have everything ready for all the questions you might get asked when you phone for a quote.

ok thankyou , i might try boots travel insurance xxx

  • Have you got travel insurance in place?  I have bank travel insurance and it renews every October.  I was diagnosed June and went away 5 days later and rang insurers who said o was covered until I had to renew in October.  Then I just had to declare but was allowed one medical condition with no extra charge .
