Just been diagnosed with breast cancer again after 14 years clear. My first cancer treatment was in 2001 & then again in 2005. The first time I underwent lumpectomy, chemo, & radio therapy, the second time Igot away with a lumpectomy, other breast. I am awaiting further test results but know I am facing at least a single mastectomy. I’m feeling very unsure about the future at the moment. Any tips?
That must be so upsetting for you Gail. Believe you can beat it again, as you have done before. All you can do is take it one step at a time and get through each stage before you start worrying about the next.
Mastectomy isn't that bad. I had a saved skin mastectomy and then a few months later (because of various problem but not failure of the implant) I had a full mastectomy by choice. Best decision ever and I am lopsided Lizzie with pride. I use a knitted knocker inside a preformed ordinary bra and it's impossible to tell when I'm dressed.
Best of luck
