Hey I just wanted to check in with you to see how you are getting on after your surgery. I hope the pain hasn't gotten worse for you, and I hope you're putting your feet up and relaxing! (Even with those uncomfortable stockings on)

Let us know how you get on with your first dressing change tomorrow, it may be good for you to take a look at your surgery site, or if you're like me, and feel faint when you look directly at things (I'm squeamish when it comes to myself!) And my mum who felt the same way, if you wanna have a look when you're home and sitting down comfortable, and dont have to look at it directly there and then, you could always get the nurse to take a photo on your phone for you, or whoever goes with you could take a photo, and then you can look at the photo when everything is done at your dressings appointment. It may sound silly, but mum from the start wanted photos taken so she herself could take a look at how her breasts were improving. And since she developed issues with them, she also likes to see the improvement of how they're getting better. So this may be something you find helpful.

Either way, I hope everything goes well, and remember this is such a massive part of your journey that you've overcome, you're such a strong and brilliant woman. A true hero.

Lots of love and (very gentle) hugs and healing,

    Alex xxxx

  • I remember they told me 2 weeks with stockings!  They were off the next day !  Far too hot and I was up walking about.  I had dressing change after 4 days and my BCN was horrified as they hadn’t told me to remove pressure dressing after 24 Hours so it was stuck to me and skin cane off!!!
