Hello lovely people, and Welcome to the June Chemotherapy Chat!

This thread is for all of you soldiers, going through chemotherapy to take a look at, ask questions, answer questions and be there for one another in a way only you guys know how.

If you want to find this post quickly, you can hit the 'Save In My Favourites' button.

For all of those of you going through chemotherapy, you are superstars. You are amazing, and you are fighting each and every day, you are my heroes. If you need any extra tips, our Chemo Tips Page is something you may find very helpful, and something that you may find you would like to share with others who are also going through chemo.

To get a sense of how the thread works, this is the link to the May Chemotherapy chat which will be being locked from replies soon, but have a read anyway if you'd like to.

Remember, you're never alone, you have us! And, just try to focus on what your chemotherapy is doing. Its hopefully kicking your cancers butt.

I hope you are coping with me doing these! And I hope all of you are doing as well as you can do while going through this tough part of your journies.

Lots of love, hugs, light and healing to each and every one of you.

I'm on day 16 of first EC chemotherapy cycle. Got to have 3 cycles of EC, followed by weekly patlitaxel and carboplatin before surgery for triple negative breast cancer. So far feel very lucky that I have not had many side effects; felt tired at times, funny taste and some nausea but been able to carry on with life pretty much as normal so far. Hair started falling out a couple of days ago, wig appointment on Tuesday when I will probably get my head shaved. Next chemo appointment on Friday, worrying it might start to affect me more but hoping not. Would be nice to have this thread to ask questions and just offload, it's good to talk to people who get it x

Hey and welcome! Although I'm sorry you find yourself here because of having chemotherapy.

I'm so glad though that you have a clear plan of action to fight this, I think it makes it a little easier when you know what's happening and what's going to be done to get rid of the cancer. You're doing amazingly well, especially with how hard your treatment regime sounds! And you'll have to let us know how you get on at your wig appointment, it may be helpful for some of the other ladies to find out what happens during the appointment and the choices of wigs you have, and of course, let us know what lovely style you have.

Good luck for your next Chemotherapy, but we are always here, and I hope you do find this thread helpful, it's very helpful for questions and any concerns you want to ask about, and as you said its lovely to actually speak to people who truly understand it, as not many people actually do. I'm glad you've found us, and found this thread, as you could probably help people too, a lot more than you May realise.

Lots of love, hugs and strength to you!

  • Hi everyone, I'm in.

I've just started cycle 3 of carboplatin / paclitaxil. Next infusion on Monday. Not a huge amount of side effects, just very tired a couple of days per week. No hair but still have all my nails!

Started to feel a bit sorry for myself the last week or so so I need to pull myself up a bit!

    Xx

    Hi I'm in too

I joined the April group, then the May group.  Finally I start my treatment tomorrow - so here I am in the June group.

Had surgery back at beg April.  Am TNBC - am going to have Docetaxel and Carboplatin.  Took my 1st steroids this morning.

I'm in - for the final time. Last Docetaxol this Thursday, then on to hormone therapy. Not really up to celebrating it though as although it has considerably reduced the tumours and mets, I'll still probably be having more chemo in the future . Still, at least it's over for now. :)

I know you mentioned that you dont feel up to celebrating, but just a big Well Done for getting through such gruelling treatment.

And as you said, at least now it's over, and hopefully no more chemo for a long time.

Lots of love, and remember we are always still here, during chemo or not.

    Lots of love,

    Alex xxxx
