Has anyone got an answer to bladder lining damage caused by cyclophosphamide? I’ve had tow cycles of Docetaxel/cyclophosphamide and both times have ended up barely able to walk because of bladder pain. My oncologist gave me some tablets to take on chemo day last time which were supposed to protect my bladder but they haven’t made a marked difference. Currently I’m 7 days since last chemo and living on high doses of ibuprofen and gallons of water but still in pain. TC isn’t a picnic anyway but to add in symptoms of acute cystitis is really beyond tolerable. Any suggestions/advice from people who’ve had to deal with this will be more than welcome! xx
Hi Carmol
I'm afraid I can't help with your question but I noticed that your post hadn't had any replies. By replying it will 'bump' it back to the top of the page where hopefully it'll be seen by someone with the right experience to help you. I'm also going to tag into my reply to you as she helps to look after this group and may be able to help.
I do hope that you can get this sorted quickly.

Hiya Carmol i had docetaxel but not at the same time as cyclophosphamide, i use to find i had a weak bladder but never suffered like you are.
Have you contacted your GP to see if they can prescribe you anything? Make sure you mention it before your next round of Chemo, don't know about your hospital but we had a pharmacist on the chemo ward who if you had any issues would come and chat to you and prescribe medication.
Hope you feel better soon xx
Hi TheScriptFan - and thank you for taking the time. I did try the GP, who just looked vacant (!). The oncologist knew what I was talking about, but the stuff he gave me didn't seem to do much good. Hopefully I'll see him or a registrar before the next hit so I can be a bit more vocal about the problem, though sometimes it's difficult to be assertive when you're feeling like rubbish.
xx
