I think Cipla have recently taken over Accord. I don't know if this is psychological, but I seem to,be having much worse muscle/tendon/ligament pains for the last month or so. It feels very similar the symptoms I had when taking the Cipla. If this is so, which brand do others recommend if the Acoord has been changed?
Thank you in advance xxx
I have been on Accord since 5 months i had started treatment. Didn't have to severe side effects till last few nights when started pains in my legs. Hope it is only Letrozole side effects!
This Accord issue is a news to me but it looks that something has changed. Yesterday my Boots gave me Letrozole by TEVA!? Never heard that they produce it, I thought they did tamoxifen only. I took my first tablet today. Hope won't be too bad.
best regards and hugs to all

Interesting to hear about the Accord story...I have recently given up with all brands after a year on them...Actavis, Accord, Cipla, and fatigue in the last 6 months which just seems to get worse. I feel I need to take something so am now paying over the counter to have Femara...1st tablet yesterday so will let you know how it goes...there has to be a solution, I don't want to be tired for 10 years!!
Hope you have a good experience of Teva, one I never had. Would be interested to hear other stories about Femara etc

Hi Eva2,
Can I ask how much you are paying for Femara, and where you get it from? I'm really sensitive to medication, and suspect I'll end up tring for that brand and not getting it through my GP. I know that it costs the NHS about £90 a month though....
Hello Londonmumof2,
I am paying £82 for one month's supply. I needed a doctor's prescription as a private patient, and was told to shop around. The first chemist quoted £127 and the second one was much cheaper at £82. It is bought by the chemist as a 'parallel import', who warned me it may have foreign wording on the packet [which it didn't], but the slip inside would be in English [which it is]. She was really sympathetic and said I should try a month first, but I can go back after a month and get the other two months if I'm happy with it. The one I've got is made by Novartis, the original manufacturer in Czech Republic and packaged in Denmark so I'm happy it's the real deal...
Good luck to you!

Hi Eva2,
I just looked up a parallel import, and it's through another EU member state. Will your chemist buy lots before we come out of the EU (if we do?). I'd love to know what they cost in other EU countries, and it's a shame that you can't get the NHS to pay the prescription part of the cost back to you. Let us know how it goes as I'm also dreading the generic brands. The only generic brand I can take of painkillers or antihistamines without side-effects is Boots. It's a shame that they don't have an own-brand version!
Good luck!
Thanks for your information. Nobody seems to hear about Teva's Latrozole. I'm having a go. The legs aches started before I started TEVA,,so I have no clue why and what's the reason for it...maybe a kind of cold symptoms (that's very optimistic view!) ..
i have checked the price of Femara in Poland (the country of my roots) and there fully paid Femara Novartis costs only 52£! I'll see how am I coping on the Teva stuff and if not I will investigate how and what could be done to have Femara. This of course would be depended on Brexit results. If we out I'm afraid not much could be then done. Keep in touch. I will let you know.
best regards and pinky hugs

I had to go to 4 pharmacies in 3 different areas yesterday trying to find one that had accord! I had a lecture from one pharmacist that all the brands were exactly the same, yeah right.
Normally I pick up my prescription from my GP surgery and I hunt around to find a pharmacist that has accord, which I don't mind doing. Yesterday the GP surgery told me that I have to nominate a pharmacist to collect my prescription, I can't collect it from the surgery anymore, apparently health board rules. I protested saying I don't always go to the same chemist. Tough, they said
After a 2 hour drive around, I found a nice pharmacist in the next town, who said that they could probably get accord for me. So I filled in the form for them to send to the surgery
What a palaver!

I went to see my pharmacist today and she explained that the reason they didn't give me accord this month was due to some proBless on accord's side. She said possibly packing issues!? She promised that next month I'll get it if the problem is solved.

Eva2 Thank you for this info. I've been checking out the private options since starting letrozole 3 months ago, having read how tge generic versions can cause problems. Did it take long to secure Femara or did they have it in stock? The hospital initially provided Manx, which was O.K. then the doctor's pharmacy has issued Accord for 2 months, now this month it's Neva. 2 days in, I have unusual headaches, which I never get, so I will be watching it carefully.
I am fed up with getting only one month at a time. Is this usual at the beginning?
