Inverted nipple

Hi , a warm welcome to this club which we would never have chosen to join! Hopefully your stay will be brief, and you will find out that all is well after some tests. The majority of breast lumps and bumps are not malignant, but if it turns out you do have breast cancer, this is the place to be. Lots off support, shared experiences and even some laughs now and then. 

Re the clinic, I can only say what happened with me, but seems fairly common: on my first visit, I had an initial consultation and examination with a breast doctor, then mammogram, ultrasound and biopsies, then further consultation to discuss what they could see on the images. I was told that they thought it very likely that it was cancer that day. 2 weeks later I went back for the results and was told type and grade, as well as an initial likely treatment plan, and a date for my lumpectomy. 

So I knew quite a lot from that first appointment, but had to wait for more detail once the biopsy results had come, for the second appointment. 

I'm sure others will pop in with their experiences, please do keep posting and ask any questions, rant and rave if you feel the need, Let us know how you get on, sorry you have the horrible task of waiting for appointments and results, tortuous as we all know. Try to keep away from Dr Google - lots of inaccurate and out of date stuff out there which usually leads to more anxiety for no good reason! Love and hugs, HFxx

welcome to the forum that has been a big support to me over the last few months. I noticed a slightly inverted nipple and was also referred. I had no palpable lump. At the clinic I was examined by consultant , sent for a mammogram and it showed something suspicious so had ultra sound and biopsy all within a few hours. Retuned a week later for results. Mine did turn out to be cancer but consultant had said beforehand that there are other reasons fo nipple to invert so hopefully you will be ok. I had lumpectomy and 1 node removed and just started radiotherapy so feeling positive right now. Good luck for your appointment and let us know how you go. The waiting is the worst time . Hiya thank you so much for your reply,I feel like it's ages away to see someone,but am glad I might get some answers  on my first appointment,I am trying to stay positive as I have 3 grown up children and my youngest who is 31 he gets married in the 1st of june this year,I have 9 grandchildren as well, I live in my own but do have a friend who I have known for 33 years who is coming with me when I go to hospital,I have not told my 2 boys yet but my daughter know,s as it was her that noticed it while I was trying on my wedding outfit,and made me ring doctors,as I had been scared to ring before,as it's been a few weeks since I first noticed it. But gonna try and stay positive and carry on sorting out the last bits of my boys wedding. Thank you again for replying. X

Hiya thank you for replying to me,the waiting is so bad,but I am so glad I was given this link from the leaflet my doctor gave me,it's good to be able to ask how things go at appointment,s and being able to get things of my chest,I have a friend coming  to the appointment with me we have been friends for 33years she is my rock as I am hers,but I'm trying to be positive about it all,I live in my own so having a place to talk with, makes me feel a little better.
