Hi everyone

I’m starting radiotherapy next week 20 sessions, and wondered if you could advise me on moisturiser to use I’m really confused as there are so many different views on what works best ? I was going towards an aloe Vera with vitamin E I suppose not one size fits all and it will be trial & error Blush

Hello first can i welcome you to the group.

I am waiting for an appointment with the radiotherapist for me to start radiotherapy so i will be watching this post for advice too. I bought Aveeno while it was on offer as someone said that was good but as i haven't had radiotherapy yet i can't really say.

Good Luck with it and i hope its all over in no time xx

R1 R2 was excellent for me. You can buy on line or get it on prescription from GP.

  • Hi All,

I’ve been to an appointment with an oncologist today about my Radiotherapy, he listed best in order as Aloe Vera gel, e45 cream and then Aqueous cream.

I have e45 cream as I’ve been using that since my mastectomy and all through chemo, which has been ok but I’m thinking of getting some of the Aloe Vera gel to use as well as I think the gel might sooth more than the cream if skin does become red.

I’ve heard a lot of ppl say they used Avenno.

    Hi All,

I've had 7/15 sessions and using Aveeno. The radiographer also suggested putting it in the fridge before using it so it could calm things down better. I haven't tried it, but may as treatment progresses.

    Hi Joski,

Just to chime in with what everyone else is saying - my wife Jen used Alo Vera gel (from the fridge) straight after each radiotherapy session, then Aveeno the rest of the time.

    Hope this helps.
