Has anyone had Chemo and been kept on their Letrozole?
Hi peterawake, my wifes cancer is rather different but in her case she was kept on the Letrozole on both sets of chemotherapy. Her first was doxyrubicin and the second gemcatabine.
Hope that helps

Hi peterawake
I think it all depends on what the Letrozole is for ? Sometimes it is given to reduce the tumour in the breast before surgery, but it is generally given after other treatment has ended. The only time I am aware of the two being given together are for secondary breast cancer where it is given in conjunction with some chemotherapy drugs - my aunt had this treatment.
I am not sure what the situation is where someone is taking Letrozole and there is a recurrence, although if that is the case it may be that the Letrozole wasn't working anyway ?
Are you having chemo after starting on Letrozole ? Which chemo drugs are you having ?

Hi jowoomot,
I had OncoType DX Test, it can back low score, then Surgeon ordered EndoPredict after I've had my RT and started Letrozole, it came back with a High Risk score, so now theirs been discussion to Chemo or not to Chemo, I am worried about stopping the Letrozole if I have Chemo and have been told I could stay on it but then they might not know which drug is causing the side effect, if there were any.
Thanks Steve for your reply. It sounds like you've been through an awful lot with your wife's illness. Sending Good Wishes to you both.
