I'm going for my first proper haircut at 11.30 i feel nervous and excited.
I've been waiting for this day, so for those of you who are just starting out don't feel too sad, it feels like no time at all that i had to manage with hats and wigs.
Anyone have any idea when i can put some colour on it please xx
Enjoy your hair cut I think about six months post chemo for colour. I started with a dark blonde as my hair came back very grey but now I'm back to my usual red after saying i wasn't going back to it again but was great to see the old me psychologically xxx
Ooh exciting. I love this post. Gives me hope:-) finished last chemo nearly 2 weeks ago and so want to be rid of my hats!
That’s fab . Think I might be a while yet before I need a haircut although it is growing back. I read you need to wait 6 months after chemo until you can use hair dye. I’m desperate to colour mine as there is a lot of grey coming through. Think it’s ok to use natural hair dye though?

Well what a surprise, i went for a trim and asked Gemma (my hairdresser) when i could colour my hair.
She said it was established enough to colour now, sat down for my trim and she started brushing colour onto it, a lovely purple, the colour it was before. She washed it, blow dried it and styled it. As i went to pay she told me it was her treat for all i'd been through. 9 months ago she was at my house trimming it because it was falling out.
Not keen on the spikiness but love the colour
It looks great! Love the colour and the spikiness!
It's great xxx and a lovely gesture too. I'm afraid I got the opposite i asked my hairdresser to shave it as it was falling out she didn't she washed it and cut it really short and dried it it was all falling out in her hands ! Then she charged me £25 for it i was too traumatised at that time to say anything Came home and cried and next day hubby shaved it all off and it looked ten times better x Your hairdresser sounds lovely xx
Optimistic that is disgusting, Gemma came to my house and trimmed mine when it was falling out. She has been my hairdresser for a long time though so we are friends too, but i still never expected her to do it for free.
Its hard enough losing your hair but to have a hairdresser do that then charge you £25 is a disgrace xx
