Nails after chemo

Hi

Just wondered if anyone knows how long after chemo is it advisable to wait before having gel polish applied. My chemo finished on 27/2/19. The gel polish needs removed with acetone so that’s the reason for the question. Does it just depend on condition of your nails? Mine’s have remained intact although some are a bit discoloured and some have a few ridges.

    I don’t know the answer but my nails fell off six months after chemo finished , mine were a real mess and became infected when I first finished chemo , but I was really suprised when they started to fall out so long after - but they were fine once they grew back , they aren’t the same as they were but pretty normal.

    My nails bothered me more than losing my hair !
