Hi, not been on here for a while. I’m Her2+ grade 3 Dcis with lymph node involvement. I completed my TCHP treatment yesterday and up until yesterday I was feeling really positive as I know the 4cm tumour has shrunk substantially. I was extremely weepy yesterday( and today) I am concerned that Ihavent yet seen the surgeon to schedule surgery. Should I have a date by now. I understand it should be 3 to 4 weeks after the last chemo. I need to plan things. I don’t feel happy with my breast cancer nurse who I have only seen once! I was initially told that the surgery will be a lumpectomy and total axillary lymph node clearance. Sorry for rambling on.
Hi RumCat. Sorry you are facing uncertainty about your surgery date. Well done for finishing the chemo. I have just started TCHP. It does not appear to be common. Glad you had good results. Hope you get notified soon of your surgery. I will be having mastectomy at the end of chemo. Best wishes
Thanks for responding so quickly. Good luck with your TCHP. I didn’t find it too bad except for the exhaustion towards the end of the sessions 4 and 5.
i have only wanted to focus on what’s coming next, hence a need for a date. Radiotherapy will come after the op but haven’t even thought about what that entails. I’m scared of the complete axillary node clearance. What if I get cording or lymphedema.
xx
Hi there RumCat,
my daughter is also HER 2+ with lymph node involved and has just had TCHP treatment 4 out of 6.
She has been told her surgery will be about 4 weeks after chemo so expects to have a scan and meet with her surgeon between cycle 5 and 6 to schedule her surgery.
Hope this helps
Sue
Thank you. That’s what I thought would happen! I feel I was forgotten.
Appointment with surgeon on 23rd. Herceptin injection 24th. No date for surgery but told likely to be mid May! Feeling really down as I can’t plan. The likelihood is that I will have to be booked in for another scan too that may delay things.
