I’ve had my last chemo today it’s been a long journey but finally over and I can look forward now. A very emotional day. I still don’t think my diagnosis has fully hit me and it will feel strange not being on the hospital appointment treadmill. I’m looking forward to building my strength back up and getting back to the gym in June. Also looking forward to 2 more grandchildren expected in June!

Good luck to everyone starting or still having treatment Kissing heart

    Celebratory fireworks for you!

I hope you're going to do something nice to celebrate once you feel like it!

Good luck in getting back to the gym and with enjoying the new grandchildren!

  • Thank you! Planning a celebratory meal with the family in a couple of weeks when the injections and steroids are done hopefully with a G&T!

Isn't that just the best feeling.  This was taken at my last chemo session 4 years ago today

I actually didn't mind not having any hair. The family loved it

I was terrified of losing my hair at the beginning but when it started to come out we shaved it off and everyone said how good I looked and I actually like it now! I’ve got a lovely wig which I do wear too but losing my hair wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be.

Shaving it off was awful, but after that it was great fun. From the word go, it was never a secret and all and sundry saw me 'naked ' and I made a point of going to chemo like this.

You looked great Bustysusy  - I enjoyed the feeling of being a slaphead this time around - couldn't be bothered with headscarves like I did first time around - it was too bloomin' hot! I never did wigs as they were really itchy..

No-one gave a second look when I was bald, not even children!

Since they reduced my dose of the current chemo, it's now growing back and about three weeks ago, it suddenly decided it was going to materialise into the chemo curl overnight! Let's hope it lasts as long as it did last time - I still had some curl 5 years after it grew back first time around!
