I went for my first oncology consultation last Monday 25th where previously it had been suggested I would need chemotherapy, radiotherapy and hormone treatment. When I disucssed this with my oncologist I was recommended for the trial which if chosen and tested if results come back low risk I wont need chemotherapy. I decided to join the trial so keeping everything crossed I won't need chemotherapy.Without the trial I definatley would.
I find out by the end of this week/ early next so I have everything crossed for a positive outcome x.
Hi I decided to join the trial as it gave me a chance of not needing chemotherapy which I definatley would have needed if I didn't join. Thankfully for me the result was I didn't need chemo as results came back low. I'm now on tamoxifen and awaiting radiotherapy which starts 23 April. I'm still part of the trial so supporting cancer research.
For me I had nothing to lose and the hope of not needing chemo to gain. I wish you well and hope I've helped with your decision
