Hi everyone
I had my right side mastectomy with immediate silicone reconstruction in November of 2016.
A year later I wasn’t ready to consider having any further operations for purely cosmetic reasons, however my consultant suggested lipomodelling to soften the line of my implant and improve symmetry.
I have an appointment next week (now 18 months on) and I’m beginning to think it may not be such a bad idea.
Does anyone have any experience they wouldn’t mind sharing please?
Thank you and best wishes to you all xx
Hi
im sorry I can't help but wanted to say interested in your post. My boob still has so,e swelling 5 months on from lumpectomy but there is some dimpling and dent like crater forming where the lump was removed and my surgeon said he would be happy to do lipomodelling if I wanted it down the track.
so I too would like to know how good it is etc. Will need to be very positive for me to have a general anaesthetic again!!!
i hope your appointment goes well next week, do let me know how you get on if you don't mind?
take care
Hi Jac
Thanks for your message and good wishes for next week. I feel the same about the general anaesthetic which I why I’m trying to find as much information as I can before my appointment. I’ll Keep you posted :-)
I hope your swelling goes down soon.
Take care too x

Life is like a boxing match, defeat is declared not when you fall ..... But when you refuse to stand up again ....... So, I get knocked down but I get up again. x
Hi Leolady
Thanks for bumping the post hopefully someone will come along soon who has had it done or be able to share their advice.
To be completely honest I’m happy with my ‘sisters not twins’ boobs but as it’s been suggested I thought I’d look into it :-)
Thanks again
Best wishes to you X
Hi Poppie. I had double mastectomy with expanders but I had to have one removed. I was offered fat transfer. Ive had one op under general anaesthetic day surgery. I will need to have at least a couple more.
The good news is that my stomach hasn't been this flat since the eighties and it was a relatively quick recovery.
The bad news is that I still don't really look like a woman with a pair of boobs. This will be different for you if it's just modelling rather than building. My stomach hurt for a few weeks afterwards but nothing I couldn't manage without paracetamol.
Good luck
Thank you so much for your reply it’s nice to hear other people’s experiences. It sounds pretty positive from what you’ve said I thought a couple of ops might be needed but I’ll ask my consultant on Monday.
A stomach like I had in the 80s would be hard to refuse :-)
Thanks again and best wishes to you x
Hi Poppie - I had a right sided mastectomy and silicon implant in Jan 2017 - i had my first lipomodelling surgery today - sat on my sofa , feet up feeling a bit sore but feeling really positive ..... (I’m 46 and looking forward to the summer with a slightly flatter jelly belly lol) .......
Hi Barfy
Wow that sounds really positive if you’re already on your sofa and feeling good! I’m so pleased for you :-) especially if you now have a flatter jelly belly lol.
I had right side mastectomy too, can I ask, was the area you had done in the centre next to the implant? This is my area of concern.
I bet you’re pleased it’s done and dusted, wishing you a speedy recovery and thanks for your reply xx
Hi I’m a bit sore and tired today but not as bad as I expected. Some fat has been transferred near my armpit area and also to the centre of my chest well around the implant there - it’s my first op and he said I won’t see much change this time as the fat settles and also some is reabsorbed - so I’ll need another op in about 3 to 4 months time x
Hi, thanks for your message. I’m glad to hear you’re not feeling as bad as you expected but yes I can imagine tired and sore. I hope that starts improving for you :-)
I didn’t realise that more than one op was usual although I had read about some fat being reabsorbed.
I hope you’re really pleased with the result, I think I’ll probably follow suit!
Take care and thanks for sharing xx
