But not a very patient one!
I've at least got a diagnosis, it's invasive ductal cancer grade 2, but still small, oestrogen receptive but looks as if I might get away with the lymph nodes....and maybe not too much treatment afterwards?
Complex plan, but to begin with, a sentinel node (plus another one or so) removal as day surgery, (a nuclear medicine visit first to get 'the jab' for them to trace) then a gap while that, plus the HER result come back, then because of my previous surgeries for cysts and the fact one resulted in a massive haematoma, therefore scar tissue, I will have a complete mastectomy with an implant. That will be immediately after Easter.
By finding out as much as possible beforehand, the surgeon hopes to prevent too many operations. Obviously I will then need Tamoxifen or similar, so will appreciate helpful advice about that.
But I'd be interested on anyone's 'take' on her plan. I feel reassured that she took time with me, and the BC nurse afterwards spent a good while too.

I just checked, I can use the ‘one dose’ type of tear-replacement eye drops between the use of Maxtrol ones. If a bottle is have to use a new one each time, so I’m glad I’ve got both types!
I’ve had dry eyes for years, possibly a result from long term contact lens wearing?
I also reported a problem with the hospital leaflet given out for cataract surgery, it has an erroneous phone emergency contact number! Not good.

I ran out of metachlopromide, realised I was actually feeling more queasy than usual and so phoned up the cancer unit. They discussed with me how I was feeling and have prescribed cyclizine which I took and feel so much better, not nauseous at all, yay! Son popped to pick it up between his schools, I took one with my Abemaciclib and Exemestane after some dinner and feel much much better. Hadn’t really realised that nausea had crept up on me…..now I know, I’ll need to ask that they give me enough of that drug too, to last me the month. Will see if I need it in between Abemaciclib doses. Eye is settling fairly well, thankfully.
Goodness, getting older brings its challenges, doesn’t it?!

I also realised I’ll need a lift to the cancer centre on Tuesday as my appointment is around bus-dodgy times. I will be fine using buses to get home but judging on last weeks escapade, I darent risk not getting there in time.
there are some local volunteers who charge only for the journey so it’s not taxi rates.

Cyclizine makes me sleepy but it works so I don’t care. I guess, like the old type antihistamines, you get used to that.
Daughter is en route to Japan, flying from Gatwick via Shanghai, first time on China air. She insisted on business class fights though, with tour manager booking them. Can’t say I blame her with such a long flight.

Reassuring phone chat with one of the eye department sisters. They will see me on Thursday if still the same, they don’t think it’s too much of a concern but may be a reaction to the maxtrol drops. To continue as now, using cool boiled water to regularly gently wash, continue with drops, and use the wetting drops as needed. She said (as I agree) it’s still very early days but the Doctor she spoke to on my behalf thinks things may settle fine, if things are any worse then phone again.
they know the booklet has an erroneous contact number but are changing things anyway so haven’t yet got funds to reprint all booklets! Pah! I think they should tell patients as they give them out and tell them the correct number?!
