Hi,

Does anyone have a knitting or crochet pattern to make a beanie or cap please, as I find most of the caps I have bought, or are available are too big or stretch after a couple of wears/washes? Especially for the coming cooler months.........

Thanks,

    Thanks G n' J,

Almost too many to choose from! I can't wait to go and look for some wool now, and will try and make some for others in my Macmillan unit too.

    Love, Jan

Thank you Dreamthief for posting these links.

Jjtoo, I have knitted a couple of hats for myself (lovely soft cashmere ones using yarn from the Colourmart2 website) : I have found that to look nice they need to have a bit of slouch in them, but obviously need to stay put as well. The hats need to come down around your face and over your ears.

The nicest bought hats that I have so far are from www.hipheadwear.co.uk They are reasonably priced too and also donate to a couple of charities.

In the colder weather I found that I needed a bought cotton/viscose beanie plus my knitted hat. The hats in the knots of love site look really nice.

    Take care, Nicky X

    Hi there

Have you thought about wearing head scarves they are much lighter in this fierce heat and if you are a bit crafty they are easy to make too.

I ended up with loads of them in different colours and they cheered me up quite a lot x

    Hi SpicedTea/Nicky,

Those cashmere ones on Colourmart look gorgeous, will keep them in mind after I've used up some tapestry wool I found in my cupboard I'd forgotten about, that will do nicely for a while. I've just bought a hat from hipheadwear too.

Pincus88/Liz - I do have some scarves and wore one today for the first time in 3 weeks, as there is no heat wave where I live. Generally only 18 degrees, but we had 23 today!

    Best wishes, Jan xxx
