Worsening pain during chemo

The pain you’re dad is in isn’t a sign the chemo isn’t working but I hope someone may jump on with some more information regarding the bile duct cancer and liver, but please call Macmillan as ask for a visit at home for your dad, they are brilliant and they can prescribe pain relief if needed, he can have visits as often as he needs, they also organised occupational health to come out and they can arrange grabbers to pick things up, stools for the shower, they also arranged to have a recliner chair to help making sitting easier. Please don’t suffer in silence, Macmillan have done so much for me, I suffer from secondary breast cancer to my spine and after some radiotherapy to relieve the pain I had a flare up and was in agony as the cancer in my spine caused fractures that had me screaming with pain, and within a week of having them come to see me I was up and walking and leading a full life again, I think maybe if your dad has his pain sorted he will be a different person.

Thank you so much for your reply and for your helpful advice. I will definitely look into getting someone from Macmillan round to see him. He's feeling so low from the constant and increasing pain, its awful for him. But its great to hear that it doesn't necessarily have to be that way.
