Well it's all go still seems happy enough even with GA after last time. Said they probably just needed to secure my airway to be sure. Nothing in notes about sleep apnea form last anesthetist. So happy to carry on.

So it's just the waiting game til I go night night.

  • Catheter not recommended at all RoflRofl

It's weird learning these new things that other people have to go through so gives you some empathy for others that have been or have then fitted currently.

I've been lucky to never have had any water work problems really in my life until my frank hematuria last year and all that followed.

  • Hi Simon,Sorry you are finding the catheter difficult.I hope it will get easier for you.Hugs love Jane x

  • Thanks my darling. Getting decent output again now probably too much but it makes it easier by weeing a lot same as when I was in pain after my TURBT I drank way too much but made it easier. I pee a lot if I drink a lot anyway always have done. I could sit in a bar a drink several pints I'd spend it all in the loo. Maybe why I've never been drinker.

    I'm a champion pee'er Rofl

  • I was the same when I still had a bladder always in the loo or looking for one.I hope  things will have eased for your birthday Birthday love Jane x

  • Not having a bladder sounds like a dream right now to me Rofl  I'm not making light of it as it is serious, just I've already decided in my head if it comes to it thats the direction I'm going in 100% hell no to a new bladder. I realise the bag and illegal conduit isn't all rosy but neither it seems is the neo bladder option. So you gotta do what you gotta do.

Told you all I've done a lot of research to forearm me for what may be to come so I'm as prepared for things as I can be. RoflRofl

  • Hi Simon,

It sounds pretty uncomfortable. And I think you may be quite tense with everything that's going on. I think if it were me I'd try a half dose of dulcolax at least.

Not drinking enough won't be helping with it either though I can understand why you aren't. And if you are tensing your bladder sphincter to reduce the flow, plus the spasms then I'd guess your anal sphincter may be tightened too.

Fruit and broccoli can help with constipation and there is also a simple relaxation technique I use to relax lower back and spine. I've taught it to many people who all swear by it:

    1. Lie on floor, knees bent and feet about a hip width apart and hands resting lightly on lower abdomen. Elbows on floor.  (Put a towel or plastic bag under you if you feel you may wet  yourself. Though you probable won't.)

    2. Let your body sink into the floor - the spine needs support so this is better than in bed.

    3. Stay like that, breathing slowly and deeply for 10 minutes or more if you can - close your eyes and maybe listen to music.

    4. Try to notice any tense parts eg for me lower back and neck. Tell them to relax and usually they will. Sometimes the muscles relax enough that you feel you need to shuffle a bit to give the back more length. And if your neck (and jaw) feel tense do some slow head  rolls side to side.

    5. When you feel more relaxed and refreshed stand up slowly. I usually feel much calmer and lighter after that and can begin to control tense bits as I feel them.

    6. Repeat as needed

Hope this helps - it's called the semi supine or, as I remember it, the super supreme.

    All the best,

  • I would have been facing removal even if I hadn’t got cancer.I had bladder disease from age 20 until removal aged nearly 59.But to be rid of the pain as well as the cancer the surgery and long recovery was worth it.X

  • Wow thanks for the reply I've drank tok much again now but it's working and making life a bit easier already. I'd rather pee more than enough than not enough. And have taken a duloclax so again that might  help soon.

But wow thanks for such a detailed suggestion I'll try some of it when I feel I can without feeling like I'm going to wet myself.

  • Where is Phil? He needs to take the pee out of me like I did in his thread about wetting himself it's only fair after all. RoflRofl but anyone can freely take the pee for me please do so literally and figuratively  Rofl

At least I think it was Phil's post keep trying to find it. Sorry if it wasn't your post Phil.

  • Hi Simon, when you lie on the floor I forgot to mention you need to have a small pillow under your head (or a book) the idea is to keep the spine long so your nose points directly upwards. Good luck.

As a driver you may find it useful there too. My back has lots wrong with it and this has kept me mobile for 20 years despite lots of desk work and driving which left me in lots of pain.
