Hi,
I'm feeling really quite anxious and tearful this morning.
Over the past few days the blood in my urine has worsened significantly.
Especially throughout the night and into the morning. It is red now.
It is scary and I keep thinking my tumours are growing and worsening.
I had my Cystoscopy on 24th Aug, this is when tumours were discovered. My CT Scan on 7th Sept my pre op is on the 29th Sept.
I still don't have a TURBT surgery date.
I feel frightened and helpless about what's happening.
I've got an appointment with the GP this afternoon about the bleeding.
Not doing great today.
Love Jane
Hi Jane, I don't have smart answers, just sending you a hug. Hope your GP is of some help - do ask him/her if they feel it's appropriate to offer some either calming meds or perhaps better, counselling or even 'social prescribing' to help you deal with the anxiety. Don't forget you can call the Macmillan helpiine 8-8 too.
Thinking of you, Denby
Hi Jane. I know how worrying it can be. I had a lot of bleeding prior to my first TURBT. I phoned the urology dept. and they gave me a date but it was still several weeks off. I was just advised to drink lots of water. Hopefully your GP may offer some advice. Best wishes.
Hi Jane. Why not try calling your urology departments surgery coordinator to try and find out what the TURBT date is?. I have done this and after a very pleasant chat, managed to get booked in and the date over the phone .. later confirmed by letter.
Hi Jane
It's tough, I do understand what you're going through, it feels like you're waiting an eternity for answers/appointments.
I started bleeding on the 27th May, usual GP dip tests done over a three weeks period and then referred for an ultrasound on my kidneys. That showed a suspected kidney stone. Jump forward to end of July and a Cystoscopy showed two tumours. I was in utter shock. August 2nd I had my first TURBT and chemotherapy, two days later a CT scan confirmed 7mm and 4mm kidney stones too.
I built up a rapport with the Urologist PA by ringing quite regularly for updates. I would ring your Urologist and make them aware of your concerns. Please don't suffer in silence Jane. I hope the GP was able to help you today. Sending hugs from West Yorkshire x
