Hi Kiko, it is so disappointing when there is a reoccurrence. I had 4 reoccurrences during my 27 dose BCG treatment but because the new tumours were lower grade than the original one, my team felt the treatment was working albeit it slowly So far since my final dose I have stayed NED but under no illusions that this might change. .You need to discuss thingst fully with your consultant. There are many folk on the site for whom bladder removal has worked positively to keep them clear and enabled them a healthy life .Sending you hugs at this tough time. H x
That's good, it is weird how we strangely cope and try to still do normal things when inside our lives are in turmoil but we try to be resilient and focus on what we need to do to carry on and get through, our minds are amazing aren't they. Glad you went out xx
Hi Kiko,I hope you will be able to have a good talk with the consultant. It’s a good idea to write down any questions you may have.I took my sister in with me when we met the surgeon and she asked questions as well.It is a shock to be told you will need major surgery. For me it all happened very quickly so I didn’t really have time to process it all until I was recovering.I’m sure you will get plenty of advice and support on here.Love Jane xx
Sorry having been away if I am out of order here, but have you asked your consultant if it would be appropriate for you to try Mitomycin? When my OH had a recurrence after BCG they let him try this and it's worked so well , though ovbiously everyone's different, that he still has his bladder and all. He was originally PTa G3 and a jolly lot of them too.
