Urine test showing leukocytes yet again. Had blood test (fine), urine tested in lab (told no significant growth) US scan of kidneys and bladder (told both fine) and even ECG (awaiting GP appointment to discuss). Given yet more antibiotics.... all have been different to the one before and now on my fourth course. What's going on? No real symptoms unless being a bit bloated and sweaty at times counts. Also back pain but may be muscoskeletal or referred from hip. Waiting for first flexi following TURBT in June.

  • Hi . Sorry to hear you are having some discomfort. Some people seem to suffer more with infections than others. The positives are that all else seems fine. I believe leukocytes can be caused by inflammation as well as infection Hope fully your GP can sort you out. Don't forget the usual advice of plenty of water to keep things flushed out. Best wishes.

    Best wishes to All,   rily.

  • Hi Plantaholic1,I have the same in my urine samples.Your bladder may just be very inflamed or there could be an infection that hasn't been picked up.I also had a TURBT in June and shortly afterwards felt as if there was an infection there. The first sample showed no significant growth, the next mixed growth. The lab asked for it to be redone as they thought it was contaminated. The next showed mixed growth .Another sample was sent off and finally after over a week the nurse rung and said it had grown a rarer strain of streptococcus. The doctor said its associated with surgical procedures so she thought that I would have picked it up during the TURBT.I've just finished a fourth course of antibiotics (the same one) but even now I am not really feeling any better.I'm having my bladder out on the 30th September so hope that will improve things. It might be worth asking for the sample to be repeated just in case an infection has been missed.Best wishes.Jane

Thank you Jane. I will hand another sample in on Monday. My tumour was low grade and stage luckily and no problems until after a couple of months. Best of luck with your procedure at the end of the month.
