Update for you all the operation went well but  i was in agony for two days as the epidural leaked and the pain wasn't controlled for two days i also had sepsis shower in recovery and awaiting the bloods to come back . I haven't been able to bring myself to look at the stoma yet but ill get there I've got to keep telling myself its whats going to keep me alive hopefully.    Im comfortable atm thank god and awaiting my first poo lol. How long were you guys in that have had R C i know everyone is different but just for me to have a rough idea xx

I had some issues with epidural too, as well as when it had just been removed. I think I was off all pain killers by about Day 10. First poo Day 7 (small bullet with great effort). With no complications I was 7 nights in hospital but still very weak & tired when i went home. You're past the worst, just take each day at a time. Hope for steady progress - but be aware there can be ups & downs along the way. Best wishes.
