A terminal cancer diagnosis will indeed bring a lot of confusion, stress and many questions but talking with other people who are on the same type of journey helped a lot.

Hi Kerry, so sorry to hear about your recent diagnosis.  I am in a similar position to you, having nursed and cared for my older sister who had advanced breast cancer.  We did not think she would pull through and now 2.5 years post surgery her prognosis looks much more positive.  I am having another scan at the end of the week which I am sure will show PC and because of Covid I have been left too long without diagnostic testing so it is likely to be terminal.  I am really not sure how I will cope both mentally and physically and it all seems surreal.  Can I ask what symptoms you had and what lead to the diagnosis? It is good that  they are sending you to a specialist centre.  Thinking of you and wishing you well with the treatment.

I am also sorry to hear you are having such a tough time. This disease is cruel and just turns people’s lives upside down. My first  symptoms were pain in the left hand side especially after eating. I then started to lose weight. It took a while before I got a scan but that then showed the PC which just left us in shock. I actually thought I had gallstones. I have tried to stay positive I don’t read anything about it on the internet. I am lucky to have the most amazing family that support me. I’m determined to make the most of every day I have but obviously there are some down days which we have a good cry then pick ourselves up and carry on. It’s a rollercoaster of emotions but it’s so important to try and keep positive. Please anytime you have questions or want a chat I’m here.  As my daughter has been through this she totally understands what I’m going through which will be the same with your sister. Hi Jo sorry for not replying sooner. Had some chemo and left me feeling very tired. I am on 5FU Folinic acid and irinotecan. i go and have about 3 hours, then have a bottle of chemo connected which then is disconnected two days later. I thought I was on the last one but they have added another two cycles as the tumour has shrunk. When do you get your results? Please let me know how you get on. Big hug coming your way. Xx
