  • Napoli10   Keep your sens of humor, you will need it! The oncologist gave me the same diagnosis last year in December: 7 cm tumour in the left upper lobe. Surgery on January 6th 2026, lobectomy of the left upper lobe, the drain was remove on January 19/ 2026. 12 February meeting with surgeon : the wounds are well healed, chest x-ray is satisfactory, the cancer is out, but you still need chemotherapy. The oncologist scheduled 4 chemotherapy session every 21 days, the first one was on March 6th. I felt sick for a few days, but I took medication and now I am fine. I wish you health, courage and patience.   Maria

  • Hi  and a very warm welcome to the online community which I hope you'll find is both an informative and supportive place to be.

I’m Anne, one of the Community Champions here on the Online Community, and I'm glad to read that you weren't having a heart attack but obviously sorry that you've discovered you have lung cancer.

The online community is divided into different support groups so I'm going to recommend that you join the lung cancer group as you'll then connect directly with others who have the same type of cancer as you.

To join, just click on the link I've created and, once you've joined, you can start a new post in the same way as you did here and join in with existing conversations by clicking on 'reply'.

It would be great if you could put something about your diagnosis and proposed treatment into your profile as it really helps others when replying to you and also when looking for someone on a similar pathway. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.
