Hello everyone,

I have just had a diagnosis of eye cancer in the last week. I am heading to Glasgow in the next few days to have some initial tests done to determine staging et cetera.

It feels a little odd coming onto the site. For years my husband and I have raised money for Macmillan at our annual coffee morning in our house which is something we do proudly every year.

I’m so grateful though that this community is here it’s so lovely to have seen people sharing stories and offering support in a way I didn’t know existed until now.

looking forward to connecting with people in the weeks and months ahead,

Stuart

  • Hi Stuart and a very warm welcome to the online community

I'm sorry to read that you've just been diagnosed with eye cancer and, whilst I didn't have the same type of cancer as you, I know only too well what a difficult time this will have been for you and your husband.

I can see that you've already found and joined the eye cancer group which is a great place to ask questions, share experiences and get support. When you feel ready you can start a new post there introducing yourself and asking any questions that you want to in the same way that you started this post here.

When you have a minute, it would be great if you could pop something about your journey so far into your profile as it really helps others when answering or looking for someone with a similar diagnosis. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.
