Hi, I would be grateful for some support as I have just found out I have breast cancer

  • Hi  and a warm welcome to the Online Community but sorry that you needed to find us. I am also very sorry to hear about your BC diagnosis.

A cancer diagnosis brings many questions, lots of confusion and stress but talking with other people who are on the same type of cancer journey will help you navigate this rollercoaster.

The Community is organised into dedicated support groups so can I recommend you join our supportive Breast cancers or Breast cancer for the under-50s groups.... other both, these are good places to connect with others navigating the same type of cancer journey.

To join a group just click on the link above then choose 'click to join' or 'join' (depending on the device you're using) on the page that opens. Then you can introduce yourself by putting up a ‘New Thread’ or hit the box with the X on the top right (phones) you could just copy and paste the text from this your first post. You can also join in with existing ‘Discussions’ by clicking on 'reply'.

It’s always good to talk and the Macmillan Support Services provides lots of information, support, financial guidance or just a listening ear.

Most services are open 8am to 8pm, 7 days a week and it's free to call on 0808 808 00 00 have a look by Clicking here to see what is available and we also have our Ask an Expert section, but do allow two working days for replies from our expert team.

    ((hugs))

Diagnosed in May 2020 with cancers in 4 locations and this after three years of presenting to my GP with symptoms. My first consultant was astonished, looking back over my health records, that X ray, endoscopy and ultra sound checks were all seen as inconclusive with no further follow up. Looking at my records going back over this time he asked "didn't they suggest a CT scan".

Badly let down by my GP surgery but thereafter receiving excellent care from my local Hospital. Taking it a day at a time, doing as much as I can, taking doggy for a daily walk and looking forward to a new grandchild in April and a long weekend stacation in May, enjoying most days. Hoping for snow this weekend but I've missed out in being able to introduce my grandkids to sledging too weak etc.

  • Hi to you  and welcome to the Community.

The cancer journey can truly be a rollercoaster from the point we have that thought “what is going on with my body” until we get out the other end.

The Community is organised into various support groups. Our first list is for our Cancer specific Groups. The second list is for our various our Cancer experience groups so have a look round and join the best groups where you think you can give and receive support.

    All the best.
