This is just a short post to get myself into the online community ( it hasn’t been easy to sign up but I’ve just had some very helpful support!)

I was diagnosed with Ovarian cancer in October 20, has major surgery in December and am now two weeks into chemotherapy. This morning the first signs of hair loss became apparent- a big shock despite knowing it would happen.

Generally I think I’m coping OK with my diagnosis but three weeks ago my partner was diagnosed with advanced prostate cancer that has spread to the bones. As our friends say - you couldn’t make it up!

  • Hi and a very warm welcome to the online community

I'm sorry to read that you were recently diagnosed with ovarian cancer and can understand what a shock everything is for you at the moment. Also having to cope with your partner's diagnosis at the same time must be very tough for you.

I can see that you've found and joined the ovarian cancer group and I'm sure you'll get lots of shared experiences and support when you feel ready to post there.

When you have a minute, it would be really useful if you could pop something about your journey so far into your profile as it really helps others when answering or looking for someone with a similar diagnosis. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.

If you have any difficulty navigating the community just drop me a reply and I'll be pleased to help.
