Hi and a very warm welcome to the online community
I'm very sorry to read that you have recently been diagnosed with a rare eye cancer and I completely understand what a scary time this will be for you.
As the community is divided up into different support groups I'm going to recommend that you join the eye cancer group where you can ask questions, share experiences and get support from others who have had an eye cancer diagnosis.
To join the group just click on the link I've created and then choose 'click to join' or 'join' (depending on the device you're using) on the page that opens. You can then introduce yourself and post your question in the same way as you posted here and join in with existing conversations by clicking on 'reply'.
It must be horrible not being able to bring anyone with you but I'm sure the hospital staff will make your stay as pleasant as possible. Make sure that you take your phone and charger so that you can speak to family and friends back home while you're away.
If you have any difficulty navigating the community just drop me a reply and I'll be pleased to help.
x
Hi and a second welcome to the Community.
So sorry to hear about the challenges you are facing. Having had to travel from my home to other parts of the UK for treatment this indeed can end up with extra expense.
You do need to talk with your clinical team who are sending you to Liverpool so they understand your concerns.
You may also want to contact the Macmillan Support Services as this provided lots of information, support, financial guidance or just a listening ear.
Most services are open 8am to 8pm, 7 days a week and it's free to call on 0808 808 00 00 have a look by Clicking here to see what is available and we also have our Ask an Expert section, but do allow two working days for replies from our expert team.
All the very best
