Hi new to the community, my mum has just been diagnosed with terminal lung cancer a few days ago. I am really struggling to come to terms with the diagnosis. 

  • Hi  and a warm welcome to the Macmillan Online Community, a Community that no one really plans to see themselves joining, and so sorry to hear about your mum’s diagnosis.

    A terminal cancer diagnosis in the family brings a lot of confusion, stress and many questions but talking with other people who are on the same type of journey helps a lot.

    The Community is organised into two types of support groups - Cancer specific and Cancer experience and see you have already joined our Lung Cancer group along with our Carers only group.

    You may also find out Supporting someone with incurable cancer group a great benefit as you will connect with others supporting family through their cancer journey.

    Follow the above links then choose ‘click to join' or ‘join’ when the page opens then introduce yourself in the groups, post questions or just  join in with existing discussions by clicking on 'reply'. 

    Its always good to talk and the Macmillan Support Services provides lots of information, support or just a listing ear.
