Hi real anxiety today. Woke up with it. Normally I'm ok but because I'm due for an MRI end of November and I can't get a date, because of Covid backlog. I feel like it has really set me back emotionally. Im ok as long as I know I have that appointment in the diary.I have secondary breast cancer on one vertebrae. I had surgery and most of diseased bone was removed. Metal rods in my back. I am on Palbociclib and stable at last MRI. I am lucky and thankful for my treatment and quality of life. I work hard every day to literally stay sane to find the joy again, but sometimes anxiety just takes over. So that's what brings me here today.

  • Hi  and a very warm welcome to the online community

Everyone here will understand what an anxious time waiting for a scan or an appointment is. I should have physical checks every 3 months but haven't seen my dermatologist face-to-face since February because they want to avoid unnecessary visits due to the risk of Covid. I do understand the logic behind it, and I know that I can call if I find something that needs looking at, but it's not the same as being regularly seen.

I can see that you've already found and joined the secondary breast cancer group and I'm sure if you post there you'll find others in the group who will understand how you feel and will share their experiences with you. Clicking on the link I've created will take you straight back there where you could copy and paste your post from here into a new post there.

When you have a minute, it would be really useful if you could pop something about your journey so far into your profile as it really helps others when answering or looking for someone with a similar diagnosis. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.

    Hello Jo Marie,

From a fellow anxiety bod...I hear you.

Something I have struggled with for a long time and was in denial.

The current climate is hard enough without everything  else....but you got this xxx
