Hi all WaveWave

Newbie here and still in shock.I went to doctor friday about a couple of lumps in my neck, one had been there a while and one new one, he sent me for xray...an hour later he rang, they found swollen lymph nodes in my lung, I get booked in for ct. I rang doctor back today to talk things over...he is thinking lymphoma (cancer on the lymph nodes) he says it's very treatable but they rushing through the tests to get a diagnosis and action plan. Will be biopsy and ultra sound sometime soon. All very scary Flushed

I feel sick to my stomache cant eat and am convinced I have new symptoms daily...is that normal? My head is thinking the absolute worst even though doctor said not to.

This is so true...what you think about something is everything. Yellow heartYellow heart

Will they give me results over the phone? Is that because of covid? Must keep a pen handy then. That's good to know. Thank you, I'm sat expecting it to ring any minutes but guessing it will be a few days.

Your story is an intense read, total respect and admiration to you for your courage and determination. Hugging

  • As it is now you need to be prepared for most conversations to be done over the phone....... but as we are up in the Highlands this is rather normal as us including video clinics.

Yes it was an interesting 21 years but I should not be here so not complaining.

My great GP, who retired a few years back walked every step if the way with us and his early advice was “Mike, only worry when you are given something to worry about but even then why worry as you can’t change anything, embrace the journey and when you have a bad day look fir tomorrow to be a great one” this was a very helpful philosophy.

You notice that I like a good Nelson Mandela quote....... think this one through...

“I learned that courage was not the absence of fear, but the triumph over it”

    UPDATE

lady from booking and appointment rang two days post CT scan asking me to meet the respiratory team friday. Great they are moving so quickly but terrifying. Deep breaths. Trying get booked in for a massage asap to calm me down a little.

  • Hi

I just saw your post saying that you have a meeting with the respiratory team on Friday and that you were trying to get booked in for a massage.

Whilst I'm not saying that having a massage is a bad idea could I just point you to this information from Macmillan on massage therapies so that you're aware when booking.

    All the best for Friday

    Hi

    Wave

Thanks for checking on me. First round of ABVD was rough and I have a really sore arm ever since. But still being upbeat and positive, 1 down 11 to go.
