Hello all I have read some of the posts and see I’m not alone in this journey. I to am just in the testing phase to find out all... hopefully soon.  Had biopsy this last Thursday, CT scan yesterday and MRI today. My new GP let me know it was my worst fear on Friday. I really appreciated finally being heard, since I first went to the doctor and point blank asked if it could be cancer after I had found lumps July 2018.

Every day I feel something new.. empathy for those close to me.. worry for my pets.. wondering what I should do.. can my husband handle this?  anger that doctors wouldn’t listen.  I am sure a lot of you are feeling the same as me time to time and I wonder if this post is selfish of me? Because I assure you I’m not a selfish person and would be willing to talk to anyone about their  needs, fears, angers and all the other mixed emotions and physical symptoms or pains etc . Sincerely Br33

  • Hi  and a warm welcome to the online community

I'm sorry to hear that after tests your GP has advised you that you have cancer. Your feelings are perfectly normal and don't make you selfish in the least.

The community is divided into cancer specific groups where you can ask questions, share experiences and get support. As you haven't said what type of cancer you have take a look here and choose the group that is appropriate for you. To join just click on the link and then choose 'join this group' on the page that opens. You can then introduce yourself and post questions after selecting 'start a discussion' and join in with existing conversations by clicking on 'reply'.

When you have a minute it would be really useful if could pop something about your journey so far into your profile as it helps others when answering or looking for someone with a similar diagnosis. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Edit Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.

Okay apologies.. I fixed it and joined the group I thought I was put in already =) new to postings

  • There's nothing to apologise for ! The New to the Community group, where you posted originally, is exactly the place to start if you're not sure which group to join.

As one of the volunteers on the community I keep a look out for new people and point them in the right direction for further support.

I can see that you've now joined the bowel cancer group where I'm sure you'll find lots of helpful advice and support.

    Night, night
