Hello there

I've been lurking on this site for a while now researching what has been happening to me for the past few weeks. I suppose I'm not sure whether I can really post because I'm not diagnosed with cancer for now ? I do have some questions though so hopefully this is the right place to ask.

I'm a 32 years old woman and have been diagnosed with a thyroid tumour with follicular lesion on a CT scan and FNA. Following this, my consultant/ surgeon recommended a lobectomy. He said he could not be sure whether the tumour was malignant and would need to send it to a lab for tests. I will have the results on the 9th... I'm very stressed about what the feedback would be. I tried to probe my surgeon when he debriefed how the operation went but he wouldn't say whether it looked malignant or not. He only said he did not see any other nodules in there.

I had the surgery Tuesday 24th December and it was an ordeal for me physically- I don't even have family here so going through that on my own was mentally tough, I was actually shaking during anesthesia and crying after waking up.

I had a flight booked for tomorrow too, short haul 40 min to Paris to see my family. I asked the surgeon while being discharged today, is it safe to take this flight ? His answer was evasive, he said there was a risk of bleeding but well, take the flight if you must.

Anyone has experience flying so quick after surgery ? Is it really dangerous or can I risk it ?

I'm so sorry if I'm all over the place, it's been a rough few weeks.

Thank you

Jam
