  • Hi and welcome to the Online Community, although I am sorry to see you finding us.

My cancer journey was very different so don’t have first hand experience to help you out but can I direct you to this link to our very supportive Head and neck cancer group as this will open up your concerns to a wider audience who know exactly what you are going through at the moment.

Just follow the link I have created then hit the ‘Join This Group’ tab just under the main group name, then go to the 'Start a Discussion' tab and set up your very own Discussion and introduce yourself to the group and ask your questions.

We also have our ‘Ask an Expert’. section where you can post questions to our mostly Volunteer Experts but please allow 2 working days to get a reply.

When you feel up to it try putting some information in your profile. This really helps others when answering. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. Just click on YOUR username, select 'Edit Profile'. Put as much or as little in your profile and you can amend it at any time - you can see members profiles by hitting our forum names.

    All the very best.

    Hi Jersey Boy

Welcome to us. I see Highlander has already given you some pointers but I wanted to say Hi too. I do not have your type of cancer but one of my group noticed your username and pointed you out to me. I am also from Jersey and I had chemoradiation in Southampton but probably a year before you.

Please speak to your team about your concerns, it is important they know of how you are feeling, so they can check you out and maybe help with any side effects too.

I hope you are now with local oncology continuing your care. It can be a little confusing and for me I at the beginning felt a bit pass the parcel with.

If I can be any help or support please ask, always happy to try and help.

    Best wishes

    Hi Jersey boy

Yes I finished it June 2018. Really good to hear that you are strong willed and are feeling good. Though of course, you are allowed to not always be feeling peachy too. Sadly cancer treatment is so harsh and quite often people can still feel very fatigued from it, all for many months after. I started getting my energy back in the October but I felt like I had very tight sore muscles in the area of the area of radiotherapy, this gradually improved with time. Do have a chat with ENT or your GP about things though.

Hoping as you are with ENT and not Oncology that treatment is showing as successfully and you are now looking to maybe not need any further treatment. I hope so.

Thank you and yes do try.

    Take care
