Hello peeps

I hope everyone is OK. I was diagnosed with Breast Cancer just 2 days ago.  I don't know if it is the condition or dealing with the news but i am so tired. I just want to sleep. Is this a fairly normal reaction at this stage?  Am going for an MRI scan next week to see if any more tumors are there then they will know what surgery they will need to perform  so it feels like the day they told me i was on an out of control express train and today as if i am stuck in a pond of treacle and not able to get to the bank or knowing which bank to head for?? If that makes sense.

Many thanks and have a wonderful weekend. x

    Hi Pritis

I was very much the same after my diagnosis; I put the tiredness down to stress as it's an extremely stressful time. It's not just your mind dealing with the anxiety but your body too. I wish you all the best & try not to worry if you sleep lots as sleep can often be your friend, it allows your mind and body to rest x

  • Hi and a second welcome to the online community although I'm sorry you've had to find us.

Being diagnosed with cancer is very stressful and we all react in different ways. Could I suggest that you join the very friendly breast cancer group where you can chat to others who will understand exactly how you're feeling and what you're going through.

To join just click on the link I've created and then choose 'join this group' on the page that opens. You can then introduce yourself and ask questions after selecting 'start a discussion' and join in with existing conversations by clicking on 'reply'.

When you have a minute it would be really useful if could pop something about your journey so far into your profile as it helps others when answering or looking for someone with a similar diagnosis. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Edit Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.
