Hello everyone,
I was diagnosed with Stage III BC in July, with biopsy results showing negative for the two hormone receptors, therefore meaning that hormone therapies would be ineffective. The HER2 test was borderline on two occasions, but finally came back as positive, so in contrast to the Triple Negative BC that would have been diagnosed if the HER2 test and been negative, there is a complementary treatment. Does anyone know the name of this treatment and what it does? There is little online regarding prognosis, treatment, etc. Has anyone else had this diagnosis? And, if so, what has your journey been like? I've had one breast removed/auxiliary clearance (one lymph node was cancerous), chemotherapy starts in 2 weeks. Thank you!
HI
Welcome to the Macmillan online community, although equally, sorry that you find yourself here.
There are many ladies who have HER2 + breast cancer in our breast group which is one of the most active groups on this community.
If you click the green link and then +join, you will be able to post on this group. You might want to copy and paste your post there as these ladies will be able to help you. (I was ER+, so unfortunately don't know the route you will be travelling).
You will get a warm welcome and lots of support and plenty of advice. There is a monthly chemotherapy thread too which I am sure you will find really helpful for your journey ahead.
Kindest wishes,
Whatever cancer throws your way, we’re right there with you.
We’re here to provide physical, financial and emotional support.
