Morning,

I’ve just joined after having some surgery yesterday so a little sore but feeling ok all things considered !

Looking for help and advice as it would seem my journey will be longer than anticipated after going in for a tonsillectomy yesterday and finding they’ve only taken my good tonsil out and left the bad one in due to tumour size...

They’ve taken biopsies of the left one plus they had already taken biopsies from my neck lymph node lump and performed a chest CT scan to see what I’m facing - is it best to wait until my prognosis appontment next Wednesday before starting a discussion in the Head and Neck cancer group ?

Thank you for welcoming me on board - I’m 52, relatively fit and healthy and taking a very positive approach to the journey ahead so far - I’m someone who likes to know what I’m facing into and prepare myself mentally so any advice, pointers and support gratefully received....

Kind regards,

Mark Smiley

    Morning Mark  /

Warm welcome to the club no one wanted to join :-/

By all means do start an introductory discussion into the Head & Neck Group you joined it will help break the ice and give you the chance to ask any questions you may have.

Don't be put off by what may seem a high % of treatment / surgery issues - for the most part folks only ask questions when they have an problem; so you can get a 'skewed' impression of things.

Meanwhile you could check out Mac's extensive info area about SCC by using the Information & Support button at the top of the page.

Hope this is of some help for now, fingers crossed for your up and coming results.

    Take care, G n' J
