Hi sorry I don't really know where to start here but hoping someone can help. I've just been told I have what looks like a primary brain tumour (glioma - which seemed quite large in the scan) it is an infiltrative one so don't have any massive side effects yet. I'm not even sure of what grade I am and neither are they as they cannot take a contrast mri because of me being in my third trimester of pregnancy. So this is the biggest question I have at the moment that I was supposed to ask my MDT team but my appointment with them is not till after the birth. The neurologist seemed to be under the impression that the stress of labour could induce me having seizures. He told me to ask more information from specialist but it seems like I won't have a chance. Does anyone have any information on this?
Hi and welcome to the Online Community, although I am sorry to see you finding us and so sorry to hear about the situation you find yourself in........ but congratulations on the impending little one.
A cancer diagnosis can indeed bring a lot of stress, confusion and questions and this will be further complicated by being pregnant. I have talked with a number of woman in the same position in our Lymphoma groups and they have went on to have beautiful little babies.
I see that you have found our Low-grade brain tumours group. You can ask these folks questions about tests, treatments and what to expect during the months ahead. Just go to the 'Start a Discussion' tab just under the main group name and set up your own Discussion and introduce yourself to the group - you could just copy an paste what you have in this first post.
