Hi I've had some issues with worrying over my blood count. My history is small bowel adenocarcinoma. I had surgery to remove section of small bowel and then 6 months of capectabine and oxliplatin. Since then (2006) I've been monitored for mass in liver and ggn in lung. The last year my white blood count has been 3.9 - 3.4. Doctor doesn't seem. Concerned but I cannot understand why they would continously be so low. Anyone else experienced this x
Hi
I see that you joined this site over two years ago but this is the first time you've posted, so welcome!
It's natural to be worried when something has happened that you don't feel is being explained properly. The best thing to do is to chat to others who have had the same type of cancer as yourself so I'm going to recommend that you join the small bowel cancer group.
To join just click on the link I've created and then choose 'join this group' on the page that opens. You can then post your question after selecting 'start a discussion' and respond to existing posts by clicking on 'reply'.
When you have a minute it would be really useful if could pop something about your journey into your profile as it helps others when answering or looking for someone with a similar diagnosis. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Edit Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.
