Hi
My 82 year old auntie has had treatment for lung cancer and there is no more that can be done so we are hoping to bring her home soon. Hospital said need to do occupational health assessment and need meeting with social services to arrange getting her home. I’m just concerned how long this will take, does anybody know? My worry is she’ll have to stay in for weeks and being in hospital it making her anxious and depressed so just know best place for her right now is home. Anyone have any experience with this?
Hi and welcome to the online community although I'm sorry you've had to join us.
I can't answer your question about how long it takes to get everything in place for your auntie to go home from hospital so can I recommend that you join the supporting someone with incurable cancer group. There you can get support from others who have a loved one with incurable cancer and ask questions about practical issues.
To join just click on the link I've created and then choose 'join this group' on the page that opens. You could then copy and paste your question from here into a new post there after selecting 'start a discussion' and respond to existing posts by clicking on 'reply'.
