Waiting for test results

 Hi

I am going out of my mind with worry. In the middle of a very bad chest infection, I went to the doctor. I got antibiotics and was sent for a chest X-ray. This came back showing a nodule. Another course of antibiotics two weeks later because the infection was so severe. I was sent for a ct scan and the results came through as showing things all over my lungs. The consultant had no prior knowledge of the chest infection frim the gp’s referral for the ct scan so at the consultants appointment to review the ct scan, the conversation went along the lines of ‘we wouldn’t want to see this in someone of your age and general good health’ and you need biopsies. When I explained that I had had such an awful chest infection, the consultant said it could well be pneumonia but he couldn’t rule out the more sinister alternative. So I’m waiting for a repeat ct in another 4 weeks - trying to be hopeful but it’s all consuming and I can’t shake off all of the sinister words used in the first part of the consultation.  . Hoping someone out there has had a similar situation with a positive ending?
