Everyone must be bored silly hearing me go on about this but I've had another few weeks of constant diahorrea followed by constipation! I take Immodium to stop and Senna to start! It would be funny if it wasn't ruining my life! My stoma nurse adviced taking 1 Senna every night, which I did on Saturday! Sunday only a very little output but Monday, OMG!! One gurggle and that was it, bag nearly bursting off my body and it just wouldn't stop! Sorry to be so graphic but it was horrendous! This time I haven't taken Immodium and it did stop after an hour or so! This morning I phoned the Stoma Clinic and I've been told to go back to bland foods! I haven't a clue how to make something interesting out of mashed potatoes, chicken and white rice, no veg ! Oh, forgotten bananas and smooth peanut butter! I hate sounding so sorry for myself, apologies everyone! It wouldn't be so bad if I knew WHY this is happening after 16 months but no-one seems to know!

Apologies again,

Moira x

  • Thank you Ann!

I am here in Zante now at the most beautiful hotel. Special assistance arranged through TUI was absolutely superb at both Doncaster and Zante airports and everything went without a hitch. Through everything without any delays, lovely helpful staff and no bag dramas! Joy Looking forward to getting in our pool tomorrow. It is very hot here!

  • Hi Ann,

sorry I haven't been on for ages, my Internet has been terrible! There's one thing for sure, on this site, a laugh is guaranteed! Thank goodness we manage to cheer each other up!

Brooke was good for a full week and then, with one gurgle,. she misbehaved! Luckily I was in the house, I had to RUN to the toilet! Two full bags in 5mins! Still 4 weeks before London so she'd better get the discos out of her system!

Hope you're feeling better Ann and isn't it lovely to hear that Sarah has had a great holiday! Keep smiling everyone,

    Best Wishes,

    Moira x

  • Glad you've had a great holiday Sarah, the flying with a stoma had me worried but you've put my mind at rest!

    Best Wishes,

  • Hi Moira

Thank you so much. It was the best holiday I’ve had with 2 stomas. Only had to empty my urostomy in the plane loo thankfully, and my colostomy completely behaved for the whole week. It’s making up for it now I’m home though!

I’ve now done 10 flights since last September and gained confidence every time. I’m quite relaxed about it now, and even have a couple of drinks on the plane. Stressing made it horrible on my first flight, which was actually the shortest!

Now I’m quite chilled out about it all Joy another couple of short flights next month and I’m sure it will be fine.

  • Sarah.
So pleased that you had a wonderful holiday. I’m sure now that your a seasoned traveler you’ll be relaxed and Boris and Donald will not even realise they’re  flying.
When you said you were going in the pool did you wear a normal costume. I’m hoping to go October and the pool at the villa will be perfect but I wasn’t sure what to get. I’ve got a tankini but not sure I’d fit now.
Did raising your legs on the sofa work?

  • I wear tankinis Ann-I’ve found them easier to manage for quicker changing and being more comfortable generally. I don’t get expensive special ones-just good old Matalan and I can mix and match tops and bottoms. I was in our pool much longer every day this time-doing a bit of exercising for my poor hips and legs, and just sitting on the steps in the water reading. Not a single issue with leaks or bursts.

Are you going back to Spain in October? We’re heading to Majorca again next month to the hotel we went to last year. Unfortunately don’t have our own pool this time! but I’m hoping to hire a mobility scooter to be able to get out and about more.

Yes, excellent tip about the leg raising by the way-very helpful, thank you!
