I have two support items, a cui band and a sill support garment and in both cases I feel that that prevents my colostomy from working and then as you change the bag it starts working. Its not really a problem more an inconvenience, does anyone else find this happens
I use the band for gardening and gym work and the sill for lighter jobs
Hi ECFCok
I hope you’ll get some replies from others who use these. Personally, I’ve never felt the need to use any type of support bands as I don’t feel I need to, and having two stomas I’ve thought it might feel restrictive, but it will be helpful if others can share their experiences when they see your post.

Hi ECFCok
Like Sarah I’ve never felt the need to use anything more than some M&S stoma knickers or control underwear when I’ve been doing any of the more physical tasks or swimming after having my colostomy. I’ve never felt they impinged on the stoma itself working. I hope there are other members of the forum whose experience will be of more help to you.
Hi.like the others I have never found a need to use extra support for my ileostomy.I personally dont like the specialised stoma underwear.I did try some but found the pouch part wasnt in a comfortable position for me.
I just wear sloggi underwear which is stretchy with a little support.easily available from lots of shops including m and s
I hope you find something that suits you.after all we are all different and its not " one size fits all"
