Hi all. Having had a few disasters I have started using flange extenders. I have found the Welland manuka honey ones as I use their manuka honey bags. They cost me about £40 a month. I wondered if it would be worth contacting my stoma nurses to see if they can be added to my prescription. What do you think?
Hi FiveO
I’ve been using flange extenders for a long time now, and I got them added to my prescription on request. They are a game changer for me, and when I saw the difference they made after I had tried free samples, I asked for them to be added. I’ve never had to pay.
I’d definitely speak with your stoma nurse to see if you can get these added, as £40 a month out of your pocket will certainly mount up for you. I simply explained that I’d tried them and they were excellent in my situation, and I got them put on without any further issues.
Sarah xx
