Hi peeps.... So I was having a conversation with my friend just before and she asked me why my stoma was called Little Miss... That got me thinking....

Little Miss gets her name because she is small and feisty.... Attitude ....

What's your stoma called and why? ... X

    Hi All

Stan the Stoma made his way into the world on the 15th May 2018.

I referred to him as a he for a while until my we decided he needed a name.

Had to be male and Stan (apart from the alliteration) seems honest and reliable. He definitely keeps me honest as there’s no hiding from him and he hasn’t let me down yet. Does like to play a few pranks if I overdo the fibre but I forgive him. He’s family.

  • My illeostomy used to be called a Lily. She was quite vocal at times and I found myself talking to her - after a particular strange noise during Sunday lunch I said ‘excuse you Lily’ -my nephews new girlfriend looked a bit puzzled! She could be a bit jealous (Lily that is, not my nephews girlfriend) and when my husband kissed me and said goodnight one night she gurgled very loudly to which he resignedly said ‘night night to you too Lily’. At the risk of tipping my husband completely over the edge I tried to keep ‘our’ conversations to a minimum after that.

Anyway Lily returned to the dark (in)side a year ago but I can still hear grumbling from time to time.........

    Sandy Duncan!

My friend who is really quick on the uptake says "Oh, Cuz she's perky!

Yea John, (smiling) my stoma IS perky.

    Thanks buddy.

  • Mines named Paul, after the film. He's an alien, a bit rude and obnoxious at times, but he heals people. Thought it was appropriate Joy

  • Fred, F for farts and it’s red,

  • My ileostomy is called Dame Stella Stoma as she goes with me everywhere, is a friendly camp friend and took out the fear and disgust by giving her a personality. My treatment is called Verstappen as he consistently wins!

  • My ileostomy is Dewey - it does all the work. My colostomy is Huey - it has a supporting role. Luey disappeared two years ago.

The splendid film 'Silent Running' was the inspiration.
