  • Heather, I am so sorry you have need here, this site is great for support so I do hope that I can point you in a way to find a thread that should help you a little.....on the left of your screen, in blue is an area about 'tags', if you click on one that says 'breast' it will show you ones in use about that type of cancer, I will make sure that this thread does carry that too, as well as 'secondaries' and 'metasteses' which are the other terms for spread of cancer. I do hope your dear sister will gain from further treatment, my very best wishes to you all.....and try not to scare yourself rigid by too much 'net searching', I know it can help but it sure can scare too!

Hi, this is my first time posting although I have been looking on and off for quite a while but a little scared of posting. I have had quite a few surgeries lately for carcinoma in situ (gynae etc) but it has not been invasive. They found a shadow on the lung after xmas and I have now had ct and pet scans which showed hot for cancer. Next week I am to have a wedge excision of the lesion and if it does prove to be carcinoma they will proceed at the same sitting with a right thoractomy, lobectomy and lymph node dissection.
I have been strong about it all up to now but all of a sudden I am really scared of the pain etc after the operation and then managing at home afterwards. Maybe I shouldn't have looked it up on the net. I was wondering if anyone has been through this op. Thanks x

    Hello,
Welcome to the forum, but not for the reasons you are here. I am so sorry that you are suffering from this awful disease.
Unfortuntely I am unable to answer your questions as I have no knowledge of the type of cancer you are suffering from.
I will tag it for you in the hope that you can find someone to help answer some of your questions.
If you go to the left hand side of the screen you will see latest tags, click on the tag you are looking for.
Please post again and let us know how you are.
