Breast and bowel synchronous cancer primaries

I'm sorry to hear that you have been diagnosed with bowel cancer as well as breast cancer. Hi 

I’m in a similar position I was diagnosed with primary  bowel cancer and sent for a scan , and following that they found a lump in my right breast , anyway had a biopsy and 7 weeks ago was in hospital after major surgery to remove my rectum and part of the colon when I was told I also had a primary breast cancer . I had a lumpectomy and harvesting of lymph nodes yesterday .

im lucky as the colon cancer hadn’t spread and the lymph nodes were clear so I’m in complete remission from that , but the breast is triple positive and they would normally give chemo before surgery in my hospital but couldn’t as they thought my gut hadn’t healed enough and my general strength wasn’t good . I’m now waiting to find out what the lymph nodes show and what the next stage is going to be .

its tough enough with one cancer but I’ve felt totally overwhelmed with the diagnosis of 2 and the surgeries that were needed so close together .
